Bailieborough Shamrocks Under Age: Feile 2010:
The under 14s took part in Feile na nOg last weekend where they put in a tremendous effort and reached the All Ireland semi final. After winning the first two games against local Derry teams, the final match in the group was against Blessington, the Wicklow champions who they beat by two points in a tight contest. They were then pitted against St Eunan’s from Letterkenny in the semi final.

After a very exciting contest, Bailieborough conceded a goal in the last minute of extra time, which put an end to their dream of All Ireland glory. Despite this defeat, the players were a credit to their club and county both on and off the field. Over the weekend there were many friendships formed with the families from The Loup and there are plans a foot to arrange a return visit later in the year.

Under 16s: The Under 16s played St Finbarr’s in the semi final of the league in Cootehill last week. Despite a gallant performance they lost out to a strong well-balanced team. They were trailing by 7 points at half time and although they had a lot of possession in the second half just couldn’t find the scores they needed. Nevertheless this was a good performance and will leave the team looking forward to their first round championship match against Drumalee.

Under 13s: The team travel to Ballinagh on Thursday evening to play the locals in the next round of the league.
