Shamrocks:
La Na gClub: Next Sunday 9th May has been designated La na gClub
or National Club day. To mark the occasion the Shamrocks are hosting
an open day in St Anne’s Park, which will provide an opportunity
for all ages in the club to play for fun. There will also be an
opportunity for people to view the new facilities before the official
opening. The event runs from 2pm to 4pm.
Bailieborough Shamrocks G.A.A. wish to say a sincere ‘Thank
You’ to all those who supported the ‘Peter Pritchard
Recovery Fund Dance. A total of €5,730 was raised.
Under Age: The Under 16s are continuing to show good form and
had a victory over Denn in St Anne’s Park on Tuesday last.
They will now play Ballymachugh followed by a home game against
St Finbarr’s next Tuesday night.
The Minors played Lavey in the semi final of the league on Saturday
last in Virginia but unfortunately lost out in a close fought
game. Having acquitted themselves well throughout the Shamrocks
had a one point lead with 6 minutes to go but conceded a goal
at this stage. Despite their best efforts in the remainder of
the game they were unable to regain the lead even though a number
of chances appeared to be goal bound including one, which struck
the post. Nevertheless they can be proud of their efforts as they
fought hard and on another day may have shaded the result. Best
of luck to Lavey and Cavan Gaels in the final.
The Under 14s travelled to Laragh and ran out winners in a game
in which they dominated proceeds in the first half. However Laragh
came into the game in the second half as Bailieborough emptied
the bench to give all the squad a run out and the game proved
quite entertaining in the end. The next game is this Thursday
night against Kingscourt.
Girls Football
A large squad of under 14 girls made the long journey to Templeport
on Bank Holiday Monday to take part in the County Feile competition.
There are no results to hand at the time of writing. Training
for under 8s and under 10s is ongoing on Tuesday evenings at 6
on the Community School pitch for the 8s and at 7 in St Anne’s
Park for the 10s. All children are welcome to join. Parents can

So Good!:
I purchased a property in Bailieborough (A Blow In) approximately
3yrs ago. I spend most of my time working in the oil/gas and construction
industry with stays in Bailieborough being of short periods.
Throughout my construction travels, which are vast, I have encountered
many different cultures and people, I must say that Bailieborough
folk are about the friendliest I have met; everyone has a kind
word and a pleasant attitude. I couldn't ask for better neighbours
who are always there to help in any way.
It is a pleasure living amongst such nice and amicable people.
