U.T.V. Camera Crew in Town:
A film crew from Ulster Television recently spent a week recording for a forthcoming edition of their popular programme ‘Lesser Spotted Ulster’. Joe Mahon, the programmes presenter was delighted with what he found in the Bailieborough area.

To quote Joe, "There continues to be so many overlooked nooks and crannies still crying out to be discovered in Ulster". He interviewed many people and the crew filmed from the heights of Lough an Lea to the beauty of Skeagh and lots of historical places in between. Lesser spotted Ulster is an hour long programme and is currently being broadcast on UTV on Tuesday nights at 8pm. It's described as a programme with stunning scenery, quirky stories and fascinating people and no doubt when it is broadcast the people and places of Bailieborough will live up to that image. Watch out for this edition, which is solely based in the Bailieborough area and will be part of a new series starting in early October 2010.

Bailieborough Shamrocks Underage:
Minors
The minors made the short trip to Lavey on St Patrick’s morning to play the locals in the league. Unfortunately they produced a below par performance. Their cause was not helped by the concession of 3 goals in the first 10 minutes, which left them with a mountain to climb, and though they battled to the end, they could not make up the deficit. Their next fixture against Cavan Gaels had to be postponed and will probably be played next Sunday morning.

Parade: Well done to those from the various age groups who represented their teams on the St Patrick’s Day float. They had plenty of silverware to display having won the Minor Championship, the Under 14 Feile, the Under 12 Shield and a number of trophies at under 10 in 2009. Thanks also to Norbert Reilly and Francis Tierney from Coolrite who provided the transport.
